About Dr. Frank and his research
Dr. Frank has been actively researching the use of diets and nutritional
supplements to prevent and treat diseases since 1989. The public,
frequently, asks his opinion about which diets and what supplements
can be used to prevent or treat certain diseases. In this section
of the library, Dr. Frank provides an overview of his findings.
He believes that meditation and exercise along with building supportive
family and community ties are very valuable for health and wellness.
Here, however, he only focuses on the use of specific diets and
supplements to prevent or treat diseases.

Supplements
Preventing and treating diseases with nutritional supplements
Supplements can be an effective tool in preventing or treating
many diseases and can help to minimize or even, perhaps, reverse
some of the degenerative diseases we eventually develop if we
live long enough – such as heart disease, osteoporosis, and osteoarthritis.
They can be a valuable tool in the prevention or treatment of
pain, adult onset diabetes, cardiac arrhythmias, prostate enlargement,
osteoarthritis, coronary artery disease, high cholesterol, high
triglycerides, high blood pressure, depression, obesity, cancer,
impotency, hepatitis, viral infections, dementia (Alzheimers Diseease)
and numerous other disease challenges. And, of course, one of
the key benefits to using supplements is that side effects and
interactions with medications are negligible. Before reading about
specific diseases and the use of supplements (listed at the end
of this section), it is advisable to read about two dietary topics
that Dr. Frank believes can, in many cases, play powerful roles
in preventing many degenerative diseases if adhered to correctly
(see below).
Diet
The Anti-X diet, a diet to prevent Syndrome X
Although you may never have heard about syndrome X, I believe,
as do many of today’s leading nutritional educators, that no discussion
about diet and disease prevention would be complete without learning
about syndrome X. Understanding syndrome X and learning how to
prevent it with the Anti-X diet and supplements is of critical
importance to prevent it and, as a result, prevent the degenerative
diseases it causes. This information may be among the most important
for you to know to prevent many degenerative diseases – most notably
adult onset diabetes, coronary artery disease, hypertension, high
cholesterol and high triglycerides, and it most important and
very effective for weight management. The scientific literature
also suggests that preventing syndrome X may play an important
role in preventing certain cancers, osteoporosis and osteoarthritis.
I, therefore, strongly encourage you to read about this topic
before leaving this web site. If your health is important to you,
you will be glad you did.
Fatty Acids and Diseases
I have also come to believe that the types of fats we eat are
the most important part of our daily diet. The types of fats that
you eat influence every organ system in your body and many biochemical
reactions as well. Understanding the right type of fats to include
in your daily diet, and, how they can prevent degenerative diseases
is vitally important to living a longer life with quality health.
Eating the right fats in your diet can play an important role
in helping to prevent, and, in some cases, reverse many degenerative
diseases.

A CRITICAL MESSAGE
FROM DR. FRANK |
| Nothing
replaces seeing your physician.
The information discussed in these sections is not a substitute
for seeing your physician. In this section, in most cases,
Dr. Frank will make no recommendations about the use of
any one company’s supplement products and, when he speaks
of supplements, he is speaking generically about them.
